"Born, at Old Brew Yard in the parish of St Martin at Oak, as the youngest of five children (all sons) to Robert John Townshend WILLIMENT (1857 to 1929) and Sarah Ann ANNISON (1857 to 1923). Until marriage Frank lived at the family homes: briefly at 25 Philadelphia Lane (as it then existed) and after at 17 Press Lane, both off Aylsham Road. In 1908 he married Anne Harriet WIGGER (1882 to 1963). Up to 1914 they lived at two addresses: 3 Berners Street and then 31 Wingfield Road (both also off Aylsham Road). During this time they had two sons: Russell Emmanuel (1908 to 1981) and Stanley Frank (1913 to 1982). The 1901 census showed Frank as a clicker in the shoe trade and in 1911 as a boot and shoe upper cutter. From 24/11/1914 until conscripted in about May 1917, Frank was the licensee of the Plasterers Arms public house in Cowgate. After his death his widow stayed on as licensee until she remarried in 1919, continuing to live there until 1932."
