He was one of (at least) five sons and two daughters born to Francis George WILLIMOT (also known as WILLIMENT) (1846 to 1920) and Ellen (sometimes known as Helen) FOX (1850 to 1900). Francis was a printer's compositor. In 1891 the family lived at 51 Garden Road, St Thomas, Heigham and in 1901 at 10 Onley Street, Heigham. A year after Ellen's death, Francis remarried: to Harriet Jane SMITH (1853 to 1928). In 1911 Walter was lodging at 51 Leicester Street, Heigham, in the home of his widowed sister, Ellen Elizabeth FULCHER (1868 to 1940), who was deaf, and her daughter. Also lodging there were three of Walter's brothers: Frank WILLIMENT (1878 to 1956), Ernest (1880 to 1955) and Bertie (1883 to 1955). In 1901 Walter's occupation was given as a cellerman and in 1911 as a general labourer."
